Ministry Manual Volume II

Volume II -     Part 6: The Teaching Anointing

Introduction:

While the Greeks were concerned with detached knowledge and a speculative interest in the metaphysical nature of things, the Old Testament regards knowledge as something which continually arises from personal encounter.

Colin Brown.

  • In context of the personal encounter scenario – then teaching the Word is not an academic thing but one that involves an encounter.

John 18:37-38 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

  • If therefore we are to know the truth, it has to be a personal encounter with the Truth who is Christ Jesus.

John 14:6 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Galatians 5:25 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

  • The Role of the Mind:

2 Timothy 2:15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  • However, the use of the word is in the context of meditative study to enable the mind to be renewed by the Spirit. Study is not meant to be mind first, then human reasoning. We are taking of anointed study – a huge difference.

Joshua 1:8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Psalm 119:97 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

97 O how love I thy law!
it is my meditation all the day.

Psalm 19:14 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord,
my strength, and my redeemer.

1 Timothy 4:15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Mark 3:11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

  • The Response:

Luke 24:32 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

  • The Role of the Heart: Benefits of Living Out of the Heart

Exodus 35:21-29 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments. 22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the Lord. 23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair, and red skins of rams, and badgers’ skins, brought them. 24 Every one that did offer an offering of silver and brass brought the Lord’s offering: and every man, with whom was found shittim wood for any work of the service, brought it. 25 And all the women that were wise hearted did spin with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine linen. 26 And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun goats’ hair. 27 And the rulers brought onyx stones, and stones to be set, for the ephod, and for the breastplate; 28 and spice, and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. 29 The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the Lord, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the Lord had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.

Exodus 35:35 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

35 Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. 11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

Acts 16:14 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

Romans 2:29 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

  • The Function of the Heart

Romans 10:9-10 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Isaiah 29:4 King James Version (KJV)

Acts 6:8-12 King James Version (KJV)

10And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

11Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

12And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

2Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

4And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

5Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.

17And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me.

18Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

19Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep.

20And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.

21And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer.

22And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight.

23And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

8Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

10Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

Part 7: The Pastoring Anointing

  • Introduction

The term “Pastor” only appears once in the whole of the New Testament and eight times in the Old Testament, all the O.T. references being in Jeremiah.

1. Jeremiah 2:8
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

2. Jeremiah 3:15
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

3. Jeremiah 10:21
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

4. Jeremiah 12:10
Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

5. Jeremiah 17:16
As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

6. Jeremiah 22:22
The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

7.Jeremiah 23:1
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

8. Jeremiah 23:2
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

9. Ephesians 4:11
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

  • The Jeremiah Good and Bad Pastors

  1. Bad Pastors knew not the Saviour even though he might be able to handle legalism.

  2. Good Pastors are after the Lord’s Heart who feed with knowledge and understanding.

  3. Pastors who do not seek the Lord have scattered flocks.

  4. Bad Pastors destroy the place of growth – the Vineyard

  5. Time of judgment for Pastors

  6. Reason for pastoring – Eph. 4:12

Ephesians 4:12 King James Version (KJV)

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

  • Role of the Pastors

A Pastor

Is often sought out by those seeking advice, prayer and spiritual direction

Feels concern for the nurture and shepherding of fellow believers

Works to protect fellow believers from false teaching and destructive leadership patterns

Is considered patient and longsuffering with the faults and inadequacies of others

Takes responsibility for the spiritual maturity and growth of fellow believers

*  Has Compassion

Matthew 9:35-37  King James Version (KJV)

35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

*  Is a Divider rather than a Diplomat

Matthew 25:31-33 King James Version (KJV)

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

John 10:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

*  Is a Passionate Carer even to the point of willingness to die

John 10:11-15 King James Version (KJV)

11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

1 Peter 2:24-25 King James Version (KJV)

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

* Is a Covenant Keeper

Hebrews 13:19-21 King James Version (KJV)

19But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Romans 10:14-17 King James Version (KJV)

14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2 Corinthians 2:14-18 King James Version (KJV)

14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

*  Is Rewarding

1 Peter 5:3-5 King James Version (KJV)

3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

*  As with all ministries – it has its battle-times

2 Corinthians 11:24-28 King James Version (KJV)

24Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

2 Corinthians 12:13-16 King James Version (KJV)

13For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.

14Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

15And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

16But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

2 Timothy 4:2-5 King James Version (KJV)

2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

*  The Priority is Others

Ezekiel 34:1-4 King James Version (KJV)

1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

3Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

4The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

Part 8: The Prophet’s Anointing

  • Introduction: To show the differential between Words through the Prophet rather than prophecies in Church

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 02/12/11

“PROPHETS THAT WARN & GIVE DIRECTION

“At My disposal have been prophets I use to warn & give direction. This is under the five-fold ministry heading of prophet, whose role is to make perfect the saints for the work of the ministry. The prophet’s heart is always to make perfect the saints for the work of the ministry.

“The prophet sees what is going to happen before it happens, the prophet giving warnings to ministries & individuals alike, prophets also giving rebukes, so as to bring the body in line with God’s purposes & will.

“For some time thou hast warned & warned & warned about Llandudno & Conwy; about gathering in these areas. And thou hast heard there have been those that gathered in seats of masonry, where thou hast seen spirits that thou hast warned about.

“Thou hast also warned about analyzation. The Word of God is not to be prayed about – simply obeyed. The Word of God needs to be understood, within the context of its being a living Book – a Book from which the Spirit gives direction & impetus; & where the Word says “Go,” this is in the context of the Spirit giving direction as to where to go; or even, where not to go.

“Thou hast spoken word of warning after word of warning over what spirits are doing in Llandudno & Conwy. They have their “Churches Together” movements, which thou hast warned about. Thou hast warned about the false translations; thou hast warned about the covenant-breakers & the gossipers; thou hast warned against the speaking in the flesh, rather than by the Spirit. There has been warnings, too, given in relation to the judgement of believers; & within the context of these domes of freemasonry, false “words from God” will manifest; false assumptions will manifest; & even a counterfeit glory will manifest; that those under the spell of these spirits will genuinely believe they are hearing from God themselves.

“The life of a prophet can be a very lonely one; for he sees things others do not see, & sees people walk into the traps of the enemy. If he had not warned, they would come back & say “Why didn’t you tell me?” But you have told them, time after time after time.

“So now, you have a ministry being attacked by rings of Jezebels. The darts of the enemy are getting greater & greater; for, not only have they not heeded thy warnings, they now seek to starve the ministry out into submission, so they can lure you with their loving-kindness into the hands of the Jezebel.

“You have seen this happen so many times before.

“On the subject of direction, thou hast given word over what decisions people should do, which they argue is not in line with Scripture. And how can they understand Scripture, in its form of revelation, in its form of rhemas?

“You see, Joshua gave direction; & prophets give direction to enable believers to enter their Promised Land. So the prophet’s direction word is in the context of edification, exhortation, & comfort. Studying Joshua, you will see that warnings were given in line with the direction. Looking in the Word, you will discover these warnings were not heeded, the warnings being not to syncretize the Word of the Lord with the word of other spirits. This is exactly what has been happening in Llandudno & Conwy. That evangelical/Pentecostal Christianity is syncretized with Catholicism & masonry.

“On top of that, there are high places where satanic rituals are spoken in relation to the control & manipulation of so-called “churches.”

“I have told thee not to start Church in Llandudno & Conwy; but I have also told thee to have warning meetings, where people can come & be set free from the cult-like activity of those under the spell of bringing together Christ & Baal.

“Oh, how thou hast warned & warned & warned! Continually thou hast warned. But they enjoy their freedom. They enjoy having fellowship one with another in the land of false fellowships. They do not understand how you keep out from mixing with such company.

“You have sought to protect the flock from devouring wolves; but they have chosen to go into seats of Satan, to bring down the work God is doing.

“You see, the prophet’s warning needs to be heeded. The prophet’s direction needs to be acted upon, the prophet taking the people to a place of sanctification, which thou hast been preaching week after week after week in relation to I doing wonders amidst a broken people.

“Thou hast announced a revival, which I have seen already they laugh at & scorn. But I have seen already brokenness within thee; a crying out; a weakness, which I can turn around for My purposes.

“Thou hast warned & warned & warned; but the prophet’s warning goes unheeded, through the flesh impulses of those with opinion, rather than those who are broken, like thee.

“I have warned through thee, time after time; & thy role has been to listen to Me, & simply act on what I have said; & around thee, there has been given a thorn in the flesh, because of the revelation thou hast been receiving, the grace I have given thee being sufficient for thee.

“One must continue to speak from the heart, rather than the reaction to flesh responses. Give the warning again this Sunday; for they are crowding thee out.

“The prophet receiving the Word being on the mountain with Me continuously, whilst the others enjoy their golden calf of entertainment, fellowship & amusement; thou hast heard how serious the time is; so serious, they need to understand the prophet & his warnings. As Babylon comes to bring the whole nation under bondage, the prophet, with his direction word, brings the Church to its rightful place: the heavenly places in Christ Jesus; the spiritual Promised Land of My Church.

Now, I want to give another prophecy under a separate heading; & this heading is entitled:

“GOING FORWARD”

“I realise how much you need to fulfil the call of God on your lives. It is as if you need the resources which you can only dream about, rather than get a hold of. With money in thy nation, comes control. Ministries suffer so much; resources are quickly lost, to bring ministries under the control of the Jezebel. That way, they can control ministries that have reached brokenness point; but instead of being drawn by God, they have been drawn by the physical lure of the Jezebel, who offers to help them through loving-kindness; & whilst you are being broken at this time, you are encouraging the confession of faults one to another. The Jezebel lingers to give comfort to that confession. That is why so many Christians hold back from making themselves vulnerable – because they have witnessed the Jezebel making the most of that situation.

“This is why I have prophets to give warnings, & give direction, the drawing of the Jezebel being one of destruction rather than life. This is what has been happening; & thou hast warned & warned the consequences of being lured by the comfort of Jezebel.

“The prophet stands firm; but who shall be with him? He lifts up the Word of God; yet they ignore his direction.

“So, continue speaking out My Word; continue giving the warnings; keep giving the warnings; keep giving the direction; for by doing this, thou art telling the believer; yet now, believer who ignores, rather than obeys.

“You are living in awesome times, when the ministry of the prophet needs to come to the fore. You are doing this by giving warnings & direction."

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 31/08/11

“Take heed, take heed, saith the Lord: do not muzzle the prophet’s words, saith the Lord.

“For as I spoke through the prophet in days of old, they spoke & murmured against the prophetic word, & picked up their golden calf of dead religion. But the prophet came down, shining abundantly with My Word; so My prophets today are climbing the hill with the Lord, & coming down that hill full of the Lord, to bring the message of the Lord to bring the people unto Me.

“As the day came for the prophet to lift up his rod, so today this same thing is to happen. Behold! I am calling the people out of Egypt. But as in the days of old, the people have found their security zones within the pyramidic systems of slavery. The prophet has cried, ‘Come out of this land of pagan worship & activity.’ Thy prophet has cried in the courtrooms of the land, to let My people go. To this day, if anyone should be under the oppression of Egypt, thy prophet stands for them, not giving heed to the personal circumstance; not even giving heed to the personal cost. Thy prophet is to stand in the highest courts of the land. With the apostle, he is to stand & contend before Caesar. Thy robes are to be the robes of righteousness.

“Thou hast stood on thy stone, & called the people out of the world; but they have lingered, saith the Lord. They have held on to that little bit of luxury that the world system has to offer. But I tell thee, My judgement is upon that system. I am the Lord – I change not. Just as judgement came upon the Egyptian courts, so My judgement today is upon the courts of what I will describe as Egypt. For thy nation has been observing the same courts of the ancients of the pyramidic land. They profess to be Christians, yet they worship before altars made with hands. They worship under pyramidic high altars. They worship before statues said to be of the Lord. But thou hast not been called to worship before statues made of stone. Thou hast not been called to place incense before the altars of Baal. Thou hast been called to listen to My prophets & apostles, the foundation stones of My Church, I being the chief cornerstone.

“But thou hast cried from the high place, to come & follow Me. Yet they have clutched to the strands of Egypt; the security zones of flesh; the god of the physical senses. For as in days of old, even though the prophet led the children of Israel out of the land of slavery; & even though the prophet lifted up his rod & set the people free; so when things got tough, before the place Shittim, so the people murmured & rumoured. They started following their own way. They started forming their own little fellowship, of which the prophet took no part.

“O, thou hast a murmuring people, saith the Lord. ‘You should be doing this,’ they say. ‘You should be doing that,’ they say. ‘Oh, we have heard the prophet’s words, but we are going our own way. We will have our own little fellowship.’

“Praise Him on the loud trumpet! Praise Him on the loud cymbals! Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.”

“I have not called thee to react to the human apprehension. I have not called thee to listen to the murmurs & gossips of a people holding on to their traditions. ‘Oh, we do things this way. Oh, we do things that way.’ As they murmured against Moses, so they murmur against thee. And in the spirit comes the thrust. An idol is built, of the ways of this world – so a new golden calf is built, of the way things are to be done. So they come to the prophet & say, ‘We need to do things this way; we need to do things that way. We need to do what the murmuring people ask for. O! we have our own calf; we have our own way.’

“Yet the prophet cries ‘Come to the high place.’ He quotes My Word, forgetting those things which are behind, & moving ahead into the high calling of God.

“ ‘But we don’t do things that way. We have our own way. Egypt offers us plenty.’

“Thou hast taken the people into Shittim, knowing that from this place, the Word is to be lifted up. My Word is to separate thyselves. ‘Oh – but we must be nice to the people. We can’t go without them.’ Yet, I have brought thee a Joshua, to face the walls of thy Jericho; but going through those walls demands a price. The longings of the golden calf is to compromise to the needs of the people.

“ ‘Thou must visit the people, & show them love, & embrace the benefits of their calf. One must have tea with them. Thou must compromise towards this calf, who is quite prepared to accept your religion, as long as you accept his. For the god of the calf is very accommodating. ‘Oh! You can have your life in the spirit.’ And one becomes accommodating to the spirits of other gods too. ‘We must show them love. We bring in the gods of the J.W.s [Jehovah’s Witnesses]; we bring in the gods of masonry.’ For this calf is all-accommodating. ‘O! we don’t want to cause any trouble or any difficulty. We want to be accommodating to all men.’ The calf of one world religion is all-accommodating.

“But I am the Lord: I change not. My prophet climbs the hill of the Lord. He comes with the Word to forsake the calf; with My Joshua calling the people to consecration. But the people did not know what to do. They just said, ‘Yes – we accommodate thee. But I can’t leave the strands of the calf. O Lord, I can accommodate Thee – but I have my own feelings, my life in this world – I cannot forsake that.’

“But My Joshua called for the people to repent of the calf. But there is excuse, problems, difficulties. ‘Can I give my life to the one God? I have got to give honour to my other gods too. I have got this to do, I have got that to do – I must not forget this. But the price is too high. I’ve got my life to lead; for these gods will bless what I have got to do. I pray for them to bless my plans.’

“But the Word declares: ‘If you hearken unto the Lord thy God…’ You see, the message of the prophet & the apostle is to hearken unto the Lord thy God. The God of Deuteronomy 28 has not changed; & the prophet & the apostle declare, ’Choose ye this day whom you will serve.’

“You see, the prophet & apostle are here, not to bow to the all—accommodating god, the god of this world, the architect god. For this is the god of physical buildings. Oh! How they honour & worship their building. O! they have their cathedrals; they have their places of the pyramid.

“ ‘O, but we must respect the god of these buildings.’ They go quiet as they open the doors, & they bow towards the altars of Baal.

“But My Word declares, ‘What concord has Christ with Baal? ‘ My Word declares, ‘Be ye separate.’

“And so, at the place Shittim, the people had a choice, to separate themselves, to sanctify themselves, because tomorrow the Lord will perform wonders.

“But are the people prepared to pay the price to enter into the Promised Land?

“The prophet cries out to the people, to sing out praise unto the Lord thy God. He goes into trances, not wanting to heed the backbiting & rumour; wanting to stay unto the place of the throne of God, where He sits equally, as joint heir with Christ. He brings from the throne room the message of God, they will not heed.

“Yet, there are those who will not heed. They say, ‘I have an all-accommodating god. I can do this, I can do that. I have my own free choice.’ Yet My Word declares, ‘Ye are not your own. Ye were bought with a price.’

“Yet I have thee, saith the Lord; as thy hast cried out thine own inadequacies, I have filled thee with My Spirit. You see, I have seen thee cry out before God, in intercession for the people. They will not leave their worldly security zones, to cross int the Promised Land. They have this, they have that. ‘God will bless us,’ they say.

“Yet, I have called them to Shittim, but the things of the world have their hold. My Joshua gave the consecration word. They have to discuss it, ‘We have this; we have that.’ Will there be a people willing to forsake the workd, so that thy nation can be saved?

“Revival only comes through broken people, who have broken away from the claws of this world.

“Yet, the ‘phone calls have been going on; the texts have been written; e-mails too. Oh! Can the people forsake Egypt, to wholeheartedly give their lives to God?

“In the Promised Land, there are principles those holding on to the world can not accept; which is why they have to forsake the world.

“My warning to those entering this land, is not to give heed yet again to the gods of Egypt.

“Thou hast warned of the vagrancies of the Alexandrian verse; yet in thy land, they still hold on to the bibles of Egypt. They still hold on to the strand which makes them feel secure. For thou hast been called to hold on to the one true Word, of the call of God out of the land of Egypt, & into the Promised Land. They murmured against thee; but thou still hast called for the people to sanctify themselves; for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among them.”

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 29/11/11

“Thou hast become true, non-conformist Protestants. I have had movements in the past where I could speak My Word, & have an impact on society; but the Churches Together movement has taken that away from Me, by taking what were non-conformist Protestant evangelical movements unto the new ‘love gospel,’ where you are not allowed to speak within the context of being a protester (Protestant); where you have to compromise to get on with everybody.

“So it is you who have My voice on non-conformist Protestantism. But they have looked to force you into a corner, that even if people come to you for a short while, when they heard that non-conformist Protestantism, they leave you, believing you should not be stirring so much trouble, as they see it.

“Thou art a true Reformation Church, & should say so, coming from, as you do, the Wesleyan holiness perspective. Coming from this perspective was the Apostolic Church (Wales). Yes, they had some Calvinistic perspective too; but what was their distinction was the commitment they had within the movement.

“There was a time they would take heed to the voice of the prophet; but now, the prophet is placed in a corner & told to calm down.

“This was a movement designed by Me to be always based in South Wales, at a little-known village, where I sent My glory. A landmark was set at a place where, if you had the physical resources, you could begin Apostolic Church Continuing; but despite of prophetic word, this movement has gone its own way, & set up church like all the rest of them.

“The movement began with passion, compassion, & reliance on the Word of God. The revelation of God took a key part in their meetings.

“Thou hast truly rattled their cage; & indeed, you have exposed the movement. On one occasion they even bought a cage! Their movement is angry with thee, for thou art the convicting voice of the past. Thou hast been fearless in exposing what has happened in this church operation. Thou even exposed their rave night in the Rhondda, making fun of them, even to the point of having a depiction of their leader, D P Williams, dressed in disco gear.

“Your exposure of the absolutely ridiculous has been noted; for thou hast exposed the modern infiltration into a once-great movement.

“You have become the lonely voice again. Your ministry has become the John the Baptist, crying out in the wilderness. This now-modern movement will accuse you of being eccentric & strange; & as you get your rear-guard in order, these times of delay & financial strain have been a real bugbear to thee; & it is as if everything is crashing in on thee. Movements from banks to church fellowships – you have rattled their cage, for they have moved away from their ancient landmark.

“You have studied their apostasy, & stood for the old ways. Yesterday, thou spoke to a casualty of the modern ways – a lady hurting, the ministry she has had in such churches leading her to such a state of despair, that the feeling was there that you were the only people who could help her.

“There are many such people in these movements of Baal; hurting people. You have been called to set up your rear-guard, & speak out prophetically over what has happened.

“You yourselves have faced the wrath of “Apostolic” ministry (Apostolic Church Wales), of a controlling so-called ‘apostle,’ to which you stood with the truths; & the attack against you was withdrawn. But now, the attack against you is building up again. They are smearing you, your integrity, & your ministry; for the place of non-conformist Protestant is in the past, & it is not for now. That is the way they think; but I have called your ministry to be My Martin Luther, within the context of setting out Theses; & as you re-do these websites, containing these prophetic words I have given thee over these weeks, I am giving you an appeal to these movements; for I am still standing at the door, knocking at the gates of these movements, to come back to their ancient landmark. “Come back to Me,” you declare; which is why I have called thee, Lindsay, to expose the infiltration of Catholicism in these movements. The protection of God is upon thee.

“I am aware of the finances you need to fulfil this call. I am also aware of the despair you feel, & the crying out to Me; & the understanding you are receiving of Romans 7; & like the apostle Paul, you are speaking out revelation, with the thorn in the flesh constantly buffeting thee; & how thou art feeing so humble as a result of that operation.

“For Me to speak effectively through you, there has to be a humility in thy ministry; & yes, you are looking to destroy the infiltration into movements like the Apostolic Church (Wales); but, most importantly, you are looking for leadership groupings to repent, & once more be of the non-conformist persuasion their founders embraced.

“So take heart, My children. Continue to speak out My Word; & as, David, you spoke out My landmark Word in the COGIC Cathedral of intercession; how they gasped at thy family heritage; & as I called you back to the family landmark of intercession, which as the intercession of Rees Howells, so I am calling you, & those still in thy Church, to intercede with My Spirit over the return of these once-great movements back to Me.

“There are substantial numbers of people on the west coast of America, who still passionately remember the holiness background to Pentecostal movements. You were in amongst such people at the COGIC Cathedral of intercession; & how they loved you for your longing to restore the landmark of holiness to the Pentecostal movements.

“I know you need this love again, for it has been a lonely place for thee. In Britain, you have been a lonely voice crying in the wilderness; & even now, they are looking to metaphorically place your heads on platters; whereas in the Cathedral of intercession, they gasped, & respected your family heritage, they are afraid in Britain to let you near their congregations, else you bring that conviction which came about through the example of what happened in South Wales through the intercessor you mentioned in the COGIC Cathedral of intercession.

“How you long to experience that love towards you again, rather than the plottings against you & your ministry.

“Understand, I love you both with all of My heart; & I have reserved for thee a place in heaven for those who did not conform to the world system. You will live amongst the Non-Conformists of old, like the brothers & sisters whose bodies lay in the Non-Conformist field thy walked through in London.

“They shall be thy neighbours, saith the Lord; the John Bunyans; the Isaac Watts; the Wesleys themselves; they will be your neighbours. They too walked lonely paths, the system rejecting them, as it has rejected you.

“And what you have done is instilled a memory of what can be done today, if the movements come back to their Non-Conformist roots; if these movements come back to their Non-Conformist roots of Protestant intercession.”

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 23/11/11: “THE MANTLE”

“The enemy is afraid of you – very afraid – of many areas with you – but one particular area he is most afraid; that is, in the area of picking up of mantles. He has successfully taken so many movements away from the mantles of their founders, & through thy 95 Theses, thou hast challenged those movements to return to their original call, the Theses also calling Government to return to its Christian root – indeed, through hearing of the Christian roots of banking in thy nation, thou hast been calling banking back to an ethos they now describe as archaic to thee.

“For example, Elim’s spiritual decline is through its non-proclamation of what I gave to Jeffreys & Macpherson. In fact, its leaders have had a ‘but’ clause in relation to how the movement was founded. They say, “Oh – that was all very well then, but…” But I say unto them, that I am the Lord – I change not. What I gave them is to be taken up by those with the mantle, who move in the double portion. So there is an increase in the manifestation of truth; not decline, as you are witnessing now.

“New security zones have been built by those in charge of apostate movements. These are their new foundations, which they desperately defend – for they are shaking on sand. Instability is everywhere, in this new-found “Church.” So they muzzle the prophets; they attack the apostles; & every effort of the enemy is in keeping apostle & prophet apart. For you know that the apostle needs the prophet, & the prophet needs the apostle.

“This is what has happened in thy fellowship here. Your ministry has been called “Continuing,” that “continuing” being from the visions I gave to the founders of Pentecostal movements. You have the enemy very afraid.

“So continue thy path; do not forsake the calling; pull down that which is not of Me. The course on Catholicism is very significant, as you are doing it right on the coast of Llandudno, where the spiritual Jezebel is referred to as being the Lady of the Sea - & you are aware of all the spiritual significance of that.

“Your media suite is to be used for developing communications throughout the world, so that apostolic & prophetic ministries can come together through the available technology; & though you feel alone now, this will not be long as you develop what I have called you to do in relation to media.

“So continue onwards, My children; be not afraid. Speak out the truth. Take on the institutions which have turned away from their original call. I tell you, they are of sand.

“And enjoy your salvation in Me; & enjoy setting people free, through what I have given to movements. For you are to continue in the base of the founders of Pentecostal movements, & to receive the double mantle – the double portion - & move fearlessly on.

“Remember My Word to rejoice & be exceeding glad, when they speak all manner of evil against thee? Well, rejoice.”

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 22/10/11

“Thy ministry has been under attack from those who have been saying what you ought to do, & ought not to do. These ‘oughtnesses’ are those of the Pharisaic spirit I contended with in My earthly ministry. They are there continuously to trap you, to pull you down, & ultimately destroy your ministry. They will not let up, because they have decided that what you have done is wrong, & what you will continue to do is wrong.

“It is from this base great spiritual attacks come forth; & if they succeed & ultimately destroy your ministry, they sit back & say it was the judgement of God.

“As with the Pharisees, who placed the Word around their heads, so this group of people operate the Word with their heads. They have scriptures to say ‘You ought to have done this; you ought to have done that.’ They are the whited sepulchres of old.

“My apostles & prophets, who discern what is on the inside rather than what is presented on the outside: the Pharisaic spirit will always have an expertise attached to it; an expertise on how the Word relates to others, rather than how the conviction of the Spirit relates to them.

“You see, within the context of life around the Pharisaic spirit, you also have the Sadducees. They are around you too. They have a form of belief, but it is very woolly.

“You see, you have the resurrected Jesus in your heart, & move in the power that raised Christ from the dead. You know the verse, “If the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwell in you…”? In other words, you accept the reality of the resurrection through the singing of the song continuously declare ‘It is Finished’ – which is from My Word.

“You live your life through revelation. You write down what God is saying & calling you to do, & simply obey it. But what the Pharisaic spirit does is read scripture, & decide what others ought to do through it.

“You see, they have no concept of the resurrection. You see, My Word declares to be a doer of the Word; & the resurrection has an action side to it; & because there is no action side in the activity of the Sadducees, their activity is a denial of the resurrection. For their activity is no through revelation, but as with the Pharisees, through opinion of what others ought to do. They go around convincing others, & isolating you, even to the point of personal bankruptcy. They say this, & say that, & convince so many people that you become isolated. They then place the blame upon thee, because you do not mix with others – when it is they who have caused the isolation.

“They gather in groups of bitter, twisted people, talking continuously of what others ought to do; either that, or criticise that they have done. These are the present-day Pharisees & Sadducees.

“This, with the addition of the operations of Jezebel, is resulting in those that were getting a grasp of living through revelation, staying away from thee.

“The letter of the law killeth; but the Spirit giveth life.

“I am coming to what you need to do about it. It is all in My Word; & I know you wait for the leading of My Spirit to act, which is the right thing to do.

“(1) Make sure you walk in forgiveness, & not bitterness.

“(2) Activity can involve manifestation of the wrath of God. You will witness this from My earthly ministry; the passage that relates to the “Woes.”

“(3) Activity can include the taking on of the philosophical spirit, as indeed Paul did on Mars Hill.

“You see, in a sense with the Pharisaic & Sadducee spirit, you are dealing with philosophy. For within their ranks, they read the Word without revelation from My Spirit, & instead philosophise & discuss with others.

“And from this base comes a destroying machine on those that receive revelation. This is why in the Word expressions like “thorn in the sides,” “thorn in the eyes,” & “thorn in the flesh” are used. They relate to being that buffet & attack. Paul cried to the Lord over this. My reply “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

“What these spirits will look to do is to cause a churning, whereas I have called thee to be at peace.

“I know that thou hast suffered enormously over the years, through the activity of the Pharisaic & Sadducee spirit. Within this context of having this Pharisaic, Sadducee & Jezebel spirit around thee, one has sought to hear from Me & act accordingly; but the Pharisaic spirit says, “You ought to have done this, you ought to have done that.”

“But thou knowest well My Word in Romans 8, ‘There is no condemnation to those that walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.’

“You know full well to present your bodies unto Me, with renewed minds. This is what the Pharisaic spirit fails to do with its victims. They will always go back to the dead form of religion. This is why they like the festivals so much. Something can be organised for them instead of hearing from God for themselves. They will embrace Christmas, birthdays, Easter, with a passion, & think you should do all kinds of outreaches around them.

“You see, they are Sadducees; Sadducees who deny the resurrection. For your passion is to proclaim the resurrection of Christ; of Him risen from the dead; of Him crucified.

“For law has been built around these events, to place an earthly structure around them, thus suppressing the anointing; & of course, within the equation comes the operations of antichrist.

“There are those who have been taken out of fellowship with thee because of these activities of spirits; & now, you are left with a group who understands the concept of revelation. It is My will you have people within the fellowship who need to learn these things; & it is those who have been taken away.

“Give them this prophetic word in thy mail-out at the end of the month. Remind them of the Romans 8 passage. Warn them of the activities of the Pharisees & the Sadducees, & bring them back into the fold, to gain understanding of moving by the Spirit, instead of the flesh, & its activities of ‘oughtness.’

“You see, phylacteries are placed around the heads of those with the Pharisaic spirit. Their understandings are head knowledge only; & from here comes the attacks of the mind. The false prayers of control of the Pharisees, the letter-of-the-law words causing the churnings which thou dost experience.

“But I am come that you may have life, & life in abundance.

“An appeal to those who had come over a short period of time on a regular basis, to come back or stay under the control of the Pharisaic spirit that condemns; & looks to destroy.

“Continue to live by the revelation of My Spirit. Do not take heed to the oughtness statements of the Pharisees & Sadducees. I have called thee to hear from Me, & act; not to come down under the ‘oughtnesses’ of the Pharisees & Sadducees.”

Word from the Lord through David P Griffiths, 18/10/11

“I have brought you together, David & Lindsay, as prophet & prophetess to the nation; & that role is being recognised, as you take authority within this nation. Indeed, by bringing to remembrance the Constitutional Acts of the nation, & the obligations before God to keep them; & how they are relevant to every aspect of society, & every aspect of law; & how you have been brought together to expose the sin of the nation; the sin of governments; the cover-ups of many years; & how that which has been hidden for many years, thou is bringing to the surface.

“Public trust towards its politicians within the modern era is at an all-time low. Government is unable to govern. Banks are unable to provide the service like they have been doing, in keeping the businesses of the nation going. All this is because of lies & deceit, right in the hearts of government, & of course in the banking profession. The exposure of this is well known.

“You have been called to expose the sin. When you have done this, peole have run, afraid of what is going to happen next; & as with the prophets of old, they have sought to discredit the prophet & prophetess. But you have stood firm; you have stood on My Word; you have understood it is the conviction of My Spirit that brings men to repentance. No earthly discussion can do that.

“What you have been called to do, & will continue to do, is to expose the sin. In the case of MBNA, you are to bring out the relevances. They cannot cover up any more. They have ignored the Constitution of thy nation, thinking it can bring its worldwide agenda, & ride roughshod over the laws of other nations.

“The prophet & prophetess will never fail. With the abundance of revelations, as with Paul, thou art buffeted day after day; but thou hast stood firm on the rock.

“The enemy is trying his best to remove you from that position – but thou hast been called to stand firm on the Rock; to not be moved by circumstance; & that which I have called you to expose, I have called you to expose to bring the kingdom understanding to thy nation.

“Constitutionally, I am in charge, & I have an order of government; apostles & prophets; which is why in Wales I have brought you together with Jeff & David, as apostles & prophets together, to perfect the saints for the work of the ministry.

“The people have been kept away from these understandings, for the education system has brainwashed people into other ways. They show off about how great the education system is; yet it has been brought to failure by the pride of man; the ignorance of man, particularly in the field of science. They talk of a big bang, not realising the simplistic understanding. Even in man’s apparent creations, their own bombs have had to have a manufacturer. Someone has had to make their own bombs; yet they teach in the universe something just happened by chance!

“Nay: everything made in the universe has had a Creator. There is no such thing as having created without a Creator. Yet they teach this to the young people of thy nation; & they believe it. What nonsense!

“And so, the base of understanding in thy nation is at an all-time low.”

“Those in the banks have failed to understand that a building has to have a foundation. They have removed ancient landmarks, & are paying the consequences. They think local business can be run & decided upon within a global framework. How foolish!

“You are simply exposing the foolishness of man. Your campaign to bring back the local bank manager, who understands the local environment, who becomes a trusted part of the community, is so obviously the best business decision to have. But what banks have done is to form a worldwide cult of worldwide control; closing down local bank branches, the people will think in a global way, without care for the local community.

“This, within the context of business, has made local business people without a husband. There used to be that local help, & a local decision;  & been replaced by a worldwide control & manipulation, to promote global business brands, above the local business man.

“What you have said to banks, however, is that there are national laws in Great Britain, that demand adherence to what the prophet says, & that rights have been given to the clergy of the realm, simply to speak out what God is saying. Thus you have a House of Lords / House of Bishops.

“In the cases thou hast with banks, you have simply given adherence to what the Upper House has said; but banks operating a global agenda have little time for what they see as localised law. They are building a framework of global law, seeing thy nation’s Constitution as archaic & irrelevant.

“But you, as prophet & prophetess, are declaring from My Word to remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set. You are saying that an oath to God is higher than a signature to the new global order. In fact, you have brought the wind of judgement on the banks which you are dealing with. These cases you are dealing with, all have national repercussions; for what you are bringing in is My own ancient landmark of the Year of Jubilee! Initially, you are setting the people free from the present-day Pharaohs of Egypt; but as with Egypt, it is the prophets carrying the rod.

“They try & chase after you, but it is you with the upper hand; for as with Egypt, My judgement has come. Plagues are afflicting nations which have come under this new global rule. Governments are falling, unable to handle the pressures of government without foundation. Behind the scenes today, there is panic in this coalition government. They put on a front of having it together & well-organised; but when a nation allows its people to come under laws that allow man to lie with man, woman to lie with woman, then that nation is under a curse.

“But those who have stayed faithful to Me; so faithful that they stand on the ancient landmark of law which I have given to thy nation; who proclaim My holy Word through the art of preaching; thou hast authority over the new Pharaohs of Egypt. These are they who think they can operate without Me & My ancient landmark; & as they chased after the children of Israel, it is thee with the rod of authority, & can pull down that which has come against the landmark; for I have called thee to call the victory in all these cases thou hast with banks.

“You have been called to be prophet & prophetess to the nation of Great Britain, & to impact the nations of the Commonwealth too, standing on the reality of a Christian heritage that has brought stability to generations of old; the removal of the Acts in everyday modern thinking manifesting in the instability you find in every aspect of business in the nation.

“I have mentioned the plagues; I have mentioned the judgements; I have mentioned the instabilities; & what I mention to thee as thou stand on the Rock, is all those things of judgement. I have shown thee before their main manifestation, which is happening now, the truth of Psalm 91: “it shall not come nigh thee.”

A Prophet

  • Possesses a concern for justice and righteousness, which brings a prompting to speak on behalf of God and the expectations of His Word

  • Engages in intercessory prayer sensing strategy for spiritual warfare that could not have come through human rationality

  • Possesses an uncanny boldness and sensitivity for communicating corrective messages to God’s people, both corporately and personally

  • Is zealous when God’s name is misrepresented by the Church or other Christians

  • Often experiences spiritual direction and promptings with information not humanly gained

  • The Biblical Background

2 Timothy 1:11 King James Version (KJV)

11Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Acts 13 sees Paul restoring the landmark – an operation of the office of Prophet – so we know Paul as Preacher, Apostle and Teacher – now Prophet!

Continual visions and revelations & buffeting: II Corinthians 12

Shows the possibility of weaving in and out of offices.

  • The Difference Between the Office of a Prophet and the simple gift of prophecy.

i) Every Baptised in the Holy Ghost Believer can prophesy!

1 Corinthians 14:31 King James Version (KJV)

31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

1 Corinthians 14:2-4 King James Version (KJV)

2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

ii) The Prophet, however brings direction, restores landmarks, & operates on a line that is only God led. Also the phenomena of healing miracles through the Prophet can be to a huge degree. Prophets are often in trances and cannot be communicated with as they are on another sphere! The Prophet also openly sees evil spirits and deals with them. The Prophet often uses music to enhance the anointing.

Luke 4:1-37 King James Version (KJV)

1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

23And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

31And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

32And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

33And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

34Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

2 Kings 5:1-10 King James Version (KJV)

1Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

2And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

3And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

4And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

5And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

6And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

7And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

8And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

2 Kings 3:13-16 King James Version (KJV)

13And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

14And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

15But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

16And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.

1 Corinthians 12:28 King James Version (KJV)

28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

  • The Hand of the Lord – THE ANOINTING (Note how it comes on and comes off)

Ezekiel 8:1-10 King James Version (KJV)

(This Is Prophethood)

1And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.

2Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.

3And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

4And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

5Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

6He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

7And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

8Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

9And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

Ezekiel 37:1-10 King James Version (KJV)

1The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

2And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

4Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

5Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

7So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Ezekiel 40:1-10 King James Version (KJV)

1In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither.

2In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

3And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

4And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

5And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

6Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof, and measured the threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad; and the other threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad.

7And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed.

8He measured also the porch of the gate within, one reed.

9Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

10And the little chambers of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

Ezekiel 33:22 King James Version (KJV)

22Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

Part 9: The Apostolic Anointing

Introduction: “Sent One”!

Apostolos = One sent forth, a sent one

John 20:21 King James Version (KJV)

21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Apostle sent through a Rhema – not just one who goes! See Acts 13.

An Apostle

Apostle = SIGNS

2 Corinthians 12:12 King James Version (KJV)

12Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

Deep calling – not passed on by man’s tradition!

Apostle = SEEN THE LORD

1 Corinthians 9:1 King James Version (KJV)

1Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

Acts 9:3-6 King James Version (KJV)

3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

1 Corinthians 11:23 King James Version (KJV)

Apostle = TAUGHT OF THE LORD, NOT MAN

Galatians 1:11-12 King James Version (KJV)

11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Apostle = FOUNDATIONAL

1 Corinthians 3:10  King James Version (KJV)

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

Ephesians 2:20 King James Version (KJV)

20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Apostolic Order

1 Corinthians 12:28 King James Version (KJV)

1 Corinthians 9:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

1Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

2If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

Part 10: The Ministry of the Elder

Here we deal with the Government of the Local Church set to work with the Ascension Ministries as elders and deacons, the first pertaining to ruling and the second serving.

1 Corinthians 12:28 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1 Timothy 5:17 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Romans 12:8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Hebrews 13:7-24 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. 19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words. 23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. 24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

Government in the Primitive Church was first through Christ, then the twelve, then through elders and deacons working with the Ascension Ministries.

*  In the New Testament elders were ordained in every Church, and in every city - never a Pastor! This is the Local Church objective of The Bible College of Wales.

Acts 14:23 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Acts 20:17 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

17 And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

Titus 1:5 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

It is clear from New Testament scriptures that there was plurality in government, of co-equal beings – God’s form of government and it is within this format and the Ascension Ministries that the Bible College Wales ordains its ministers.

*  Qualifications of Eldership

Titus 1:7 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

1 Timothy 3:2-7Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 one that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (for if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

What Paul says ……

Acts 20:17-32 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

17 And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. 18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19 serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 and how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, 21 testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: 23 save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. 24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. 26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

1 Timothy 3 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

3 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: 15 but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Titus 1 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3 but hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; 4 to Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: 6 if any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8 but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9 holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. 12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. 13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; 14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

What Peter says ……

1 Peter 5 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.

14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity.

Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

What James says ……

James 5:14-15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Spiritual Qualifications ……

Born again, Born of the Spirit, born from above; been through the waters of baptism, be baptized in the Holy Ghost to become an Overseer by the Holy Ghost.

John 3:1-5 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 16:15-20 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

17   So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Acts 2:37-47 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Acts 2:1-4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Ephesians 5:18Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Acts 20:28Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

In accordance with the scriptures therefore Bible College Wales will ordain elders of the local Church, on these elders meeting up with the scriptural demand.

As Paul and Silas ordained elders, as Paul told Titus & Timothy to ordain, the Bible College Wales thus continues the programme of the Primitive Church.

Acts 14:23 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Titus 1:5 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Part 11: The Ministry of the Deacon

The New Testament knows of no other form of government except elders and deacons working with the Ascension ministries.

Diakonos literally means to be a servant of the people, Jesus Christ himself being the supreme example of servanthood deaconship.

Mark 10:42-45 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 and whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Romans 15:8 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

We see as with eldership spiritual character and domestic qualifications and in deaconship there is Biblical example of women playing roles within the context of servanthood ministering into the government of God.

i)              Shumamite women ministering to Elisha

2 Kings 4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. 9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. 10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there. 12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him. 13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people. 14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old. 15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid. 17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers. 19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother. 20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. 21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out. 22 And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. 23 And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well. 24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee. 25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite: 26 run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well. 27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me. 28 Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me? 29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child. 30 And the mother of the child said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked. 32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord. 34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. 35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. 36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son. 37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets. 39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. 40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof. 41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

42 And there came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat. 43 And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the Lord, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. 44 So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the Lord.

ii)            Martha served (diakonea) the Lord and his disciples

Luke 10:38-42 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

John 12:2 & 26 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

iii)          Peter’s wife’s mother was healed and then ministered to Jesus

Matthew 8:14-15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Mark 1:31 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

iv)           Dorcas ministered to the necessity of the poor

Acts 9:36-40 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

v)  Phebe was a deaconess at Cenchrea

Romans 16:1-2 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: 2 that ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

It is therefore clear that we are at liberty to ordain both men and women within the Ascension Ministries and deaconate, women being co-equal with men but men being first, yet not in superiority but in divine order.

Part 12: Clerical Wear

Founder of Elim: George Jeffreys wore the Clerical Collar; Stephen Jeffreys: Assemblies of God Evangelist did the same! Daniel Powell Williams: Apostolic Pioneer also wore the collar!

In today’s cultural thinking the instruction to Ministers to wear the Clerical Collar may seem an injunction of law! It simply is not. It is an opportunity to display one’s separation from the World in a practical and Biblical way. It does not show a distinction between priesthood and laity within the context of one being better than the other.  All believers are of the Royal Priesthood but the Bible does contain callings of Minister whether that be in the Ascension Ministries, eldership or deaconate.

With the wearing of clerical attire we see a distinction between an ordained Minister and the World enabling those in the World to physically see a separated calling. We also show to the Church a person who has been separated out to preach, teach and minister. With the modern approach of undistinguishable ministers we have seen a downturn in respect to those who have accepted what God sees as a very high calling in him.

In line with orthodox Protestant teaching on the matter we intend to show that the wearing of the collar is not Roman Catholic in origin but fully Protestant and that the wearing of the collar and or other distinctive clerical attire is fully Biblical.

Origin of the Clerical Collar

The use of modern day clerical wear has its origins amongst the clergy and lawyers of Protestant Europe. Such wear was used by John Wesley who travelled the country on horseback preaching the Word of God.  Wesley was wearing the normal dress of the Protestant churches of Europe and it was not until the turn of the eighteenth century that Roman Catholic clergy adopted such a code. It is therefore right to say that it is a thoroughly Protestant practice to keep to a clerical dress code. Indeed the main supplier of clericals to The Bible College of Wales is Moville’s of County Donegal, Ireland, a former Supplier of the late Rev. Dr. Ian Paisley, well know Protestant leader in Northern Ireland.

It is therefore erroneous to think of clerical wear as being Roman Catholic or a representation of religion or tradition. This type of thinking is wrong. The clerical collar is a Protestant dress code.

Biblical Origins

As Judeo-Christian faith has come out of the Middle East we can see how clerical wear has developed over the years from this base.

Ex. 39:1 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Lev. 8:12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him. 13And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the LORD commanded Moses.

We learn from these Old Testament scriptures that ministry clothing is entirely Biblical, it not being good enough to say that this was all part of the law. God still demands a separation from the World and so this can be shown with distinct raiment.

It is a Biblical fact that there was God given Priestly and Levite clothing, clothing that was copied by other cultures – Pharisees applying alien law within the context of their application of law, an activity Jesus took a stand against. What Jesus did not stand against however was the clothing they wore. The Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus time clearly wore clerical attire that had developed from Old Testament times, this development going onto being the wearing of a black robe with white neckband of the type worn by Wesley and also throughout Judaism and Islam!

It is clear therefore within this context that Jesus would have worn clerical attire. It was the whole culture of the day and there is nowhere in the whole of the New Testament to declare that this culture has come to an end. The dress code, therefore for ministers is unlike the activity of head coverings for women. This is referred to only once in scripture and this within the context of God being the covering; I Cor. 11. Clerical wear for ministers is in the whole of scripture.

Matthew 26:25Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Mark 9: 5And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

Mark 11: 21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

John 38Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? ....... 49Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

John 3: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

John 9:2And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

The word “Master” refers to Rabbi in these scriptures, a Rabbi throughout all Jewish Culture being a wearer of clerical attire. If a Minister therefore is to teach the people as Jesus did it is very important to have distinguishing clothing and this is what Ministers are called to have. I speak from personal conviction realising how much modern culture has taken away from the Church the necessary structures to enable the Church to stay on Biblical grounds.

The culture of clerical attire clearly continued into the Apostles day, the Apostle Paul having been trained the Rabbinical way would clearly have worn clerical attire, a culture not only continuing only in the Church but expanding into the field of law with court officials wearing similar attire.

With this wearing of attire comes a respect that needs to be restored to our society, many so called “churches” of the Charismatic arena referring to ministers by first names rather than the Biblical way which is by the addressing the activity of the Minister. Jesus was referred to as “Master” or “Rabbi” and this respect needs to be restored.

Types of Clerical Attire

Clericals is a term used to refer to street clothing commonly seen as a black shirt with white collars. Any colour can be used, however and I personally like to wear bright colours and this is acceptable within the code. European Non-Conformist Clergy wear clericals that can also include Cassocks, Cinctures and Robes.

The neck band shirt style collar was invented by the Rev. Dr. Donald McLeod, a Protestant Minister, and the style being taken up by Roman Catholics later.

Wearing this kind of attire is extremely useful when making hospital visits so that everyone will know why you are there. Patients needing a Minister are able to call a Minister over as they can a Nurse or Doctor. No one seems to be advocating the expulsion of uniforms for medical staff so why support expulsion of the collar for ministers.

Why Ministers wear Clericals

The Church is not a business and so Ministers do not wear Business Suits. The Church is not all part of the leisure and entertainment industry and so Ministers do not wear jeans and a tee shirt! Fashion changes but God does not change and so Ministers should wear clothes of the unchanging principle that God has ordained throughout history. An added advantage is that the wearing of clericals immediately allows a newcomer to Church to know exactly who the Minister is.

It is possible to develop clerical wear from its Biblical and Reformation roots to bring greater understanding to modern day culture but the principle does not change. Ministers need not fear about being forced to wear a particular type of clerical wear, but we do need distinctive clothing that can simply be a shirt or blouse with a distinctive logo proclaiming the Word. It needs to be a matter of coming together over this in the Lord, but it is clear that the Apostles and Jesus would have worn distinctive wear.

Wearing clericals also brings about the conditions to counteract legalism. It is amazing how Ministers who do not wear clericals take the same kind of attitude to those who do as the Pharisees took to Jesus. They have ended up being legalistic about not being legalistic! Many non-clerical ministers have now become like the World, dress like the World and behave like the World rather than show the World their individual separation.

Conclusion

It is time for Church to be Church again. We need to return to the Ancient Landmark our fathers have set. Show that there is a Royal Priesthood but also show that there are God given activities to make perfect the saints. Only this way can we build on the firm foundations of the Apostolic and Prophetic fathers. God has set them returning the Church back to its firm God given way, this way including the wearing of garments God has ordained for his Ministers, these garments being garments of understanding rather than to show a puffed up position.

Such was the heart of General Booth and the Salvation Army whose army wears distinctive garments to show servanthood rather than control.

Part 13: The Prayer of Intercession

Ephesians 6:18 King James Version (KJV)

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Key word here is “all” meaning the different kinds of prayer being taught in this course – never using the faith destroying term “if it be thy will!”

The Prayer of Intercession brings the conditions for changed life and circumstances – the whole hearted conviction and commitment …..

YES, I AM – Norman Grubb

I have to say again and again that this union life is different from a committed, dedicated relationship to Christ in which we still see ourselves as two and thus are occupied in depending on Him and receiving from Him the immediate supplies for life. Union is different. It is radical because I have stepped right over the line into "Him as me" as well as acknowledging "Him in me."

Yes, He is in me; I am I and He is He. We are two - yet that’s not what I live by. It is union - and in the union He is so much my all, and I nothing, that I live with Him as me!

I talk the language of Him being the one thinking, choosing, acting - when it is really I. Enormous, glorious paradox! I thus speak of "replacement."

Less than that is still short of a union leap. I may be saying "I have all - I in Him and He in me," but I’m having to keep closing a gap. Here am I, here is He - and He’s doing these things for me: providing power, grace, victory, faith... and I receiving them. But this is not the same as you or I experiencing them all as me. No gap there!

This is why I gave this book the title of YES, I AM. It sounds bold and boastful, and is meant to be, because this is the missing truth about ourselves which is restored only in this union reality. We had, as selves, to go through the process of deceived self, then through self dead to sin and Satan, and thus pass out of self-condemnation into where the central fact now is, He is fully formed in us (Gal. 4:19). But thereby we discover right self. The whole purpose of God is that we should be the total persons by whom He can express His total self. So back we come again. Probably when we first experience our union reality it is He whom we are seeing and rejoicing about - He in us, as us. But then the further light dawns. We are real persons and are meant to be, just as a head can be in action only through its body. We rise and shine for our light has come. And how can we now accept and love ourselves as Jesus told us we must? Because we now know that He loves and accepts us to the total degree that He has made us His permanent abode. "The life I now live in the flesh," Paul confidently said, "I live by the faith-recognition that He has loved me and given Himself for me." So I then surely can love myself. If I’m good enough for Him, then I’m good enough for myself. This is something really new and fresh when it comes to us. At least it was to me. I am to drop those belittling, downgrading statements about myself. If I am an earthen vessel, it doesn’t mean earthy in a derogatory sense, but "human"; and He was human, and God was manifested in that humanity.

So I am no longer a wretched man, but a whole (and holy) man. I am to be myself! Unafraid. Yes, I am, and like Paul, I can do all things in Christ, as Christ. I am well able (like Caleb). I’m full of power and of judgment and of might (like Micah). I am my Beloved’s and His desire is toward me (as His spouse) (S. of S. 7:10).

Once the Savior knew at His baptism that the moment of His commissioning had come as the Christ of God, He never once hesitated in saying, "I am…", "I am...", "I am..."; and they crucified Him for it. And I must not hesitate to be my "I am." If I am now an equipped, anointed, indwelt son of God, I say so. Yes, I am.

In this there is the pleading to the Father “as Christ” – the true Intercession.

Isaiah 53:11-12 King James Version (KJV)

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Romans 8:26-28 King James Version (KJV)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Hebrews 7:24-26 King James Version (KJV)

24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

  • Man’s Need for an Intercessor & Jesus Our Intercessor

Job 9:32-33 King James Version (KJV)

32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

What is a daysman? Bible Dictionary: Daysman definition

an umpire or arbiter or judge (Job 9:33). This word is formed from the Latin diem dicere, i.e., to fix a day for hearing a cause.

Such an one is empowered by mutual consent to decide the cause, and to "lay hishand", i.e., to impose his authority, on

both, and enforce his sentence.

Job needed someone to plead his case to God.

John 1:1-4 King James Version (KJV)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

But God saw that in the OT – no intercessor and so provided one – THIS IS SO SPECIAL!

Isaiah 59:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus is the ONLY INTERCESSOR which is where the Union Message comes in!

1 Timothy 2:5 King James Version (KJV)

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 9:24 King James Version (KJV)

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Romans 8:34 King James Version (KJV)

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews 7:25 King James Version (KJV)

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Romans 11:22 King James Version (KJV)

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Hebrews 7:16-17 King James Version (KJV)

16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 8:1 King James Version (KJV)

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

1 John 2:1 King James Version (KJV)

2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 5:3 King James Version (KJV)

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

The Intercessor therefore joins the ever-flowing stream of intercession, a stream of love unto the Father, the Intercessor being one in this and bringing results. Every ministry needs its Intercessor (yet not the person but the one – one in the one Intercessor). This can also be a team which is commonly women in plurality and singularly men. We have an advocate = INTERCESSOR (therefore only one intercessor!) AS HIM, UNION MESSAGE – LOVE!

John 13:34 King James Version (KJV)

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

As an intercessor (AS HIM) one sacrificing AS CHRIST DID for those and for what situation one is led to intercede about. We therefore have a ministry presentation BIBLICAL, not bound by tradition but going back to the governmental roots of not only the Early Church but also the whole of scripture, of true liberation of woman yet maintaining the Biblical balance, the “First” of the man not meaning superior but having a distinctive role to bring the freedom for women to minister who can be ordained for the ministry is of Christ himself through those joint-heirs separated from the god of this world who looks to take us along the paths of his order, rather than that of God’s Holy Word.

Rev Brian Mason

We have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.

Nehemiah 1:6 Authorised King James Version

What is both the highest level and the most demanding type of prayer? Yet few reach this level. A clue is given by the prophet Ezekiel. “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30. Nehemiah along with other examples like Moses, Daniel, Esther and Paul can be clearly identified as prayer intercessors. Each one of these was willing to relinquish their whole way of looking at things and be fully given over to God for His will alone to be done through them. An intercessor can have no claim of any right to themselves, even 99.9% of their life given to God is not enough. It has to be the full 100%. Then God can and does make who is willing to be made willing to become an intercessor fit for all He requires of them. Sadly in these days, as shown through Ezekiel’s lonely cry, a ‘pray for me’ self-centredness stands as a blockage to there being many who will give themselves absolutely to God.

Nehemiah was different. He shows by his response to the news brought from Jerusalem what an intercessor should be. There are three areas which show what is required of an intercessor. These are: identification, agony and authority. On hearing “And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.” Nehemiah 1:3. What was Nehemiah’s reaction? There was no self-pity. There was no blaming others. There was no leaving the situation to others. He “prayed before the God of heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4. He wept and for days was on his face before God. There was great affliction and reproach to the remnant in Jerusalem and this needed a response. His prayer was based on who God is and that God is bound by His covenant promises. “and said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments.” Nehemiah 1:5. For God to keep His part of the covenant had depended upon the Jews loving Him and observing His commandments. Sadly the Jews had not kept their part and had become so rebellious that God had brought King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon to take many of the Jews into captivity and the king’s army had also destroyed the walls and gates of Jerusalem. The captivity had now ended and some of the Jews had returned to Jerusalem and found the city in this terrible condition. As he prayed Nehemiah started to see matters from God’s point of view. He was in earnest and refused to let God go until he knew what God wanted to be done.

Before anything could be done in practical terms there first needed to be a restoration of the spiritual breech with God. Nehemiah started to get the attention of God. This was through Nehemiah’s own identification with the cause of the breech with God. It was sin. “I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.” Nehemiah 1:6. He saw clearly that the cause of the exile was their rebellion against God. This rebellion had been the corruption of the commandments of God. “We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.” Nehemiah 1:7. The Jews had been scattered throughout the kingdom of Babylon. Yet there was hope should the Jews turn back to God. “But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.” Nehemiah 1:9. Nehemiah’s confidence grew as he came more on to God’s side. Nehemiah by revelation could believe for a full restoration of both the return to the commandments of the Law and the worship of God as well as the rebuilding of Jerusalem. At this moment Nehemiah gave himself wholly to God for Him to use Nehemiah in bringing God’s people back to Himself for Nehemiah had now come into line with God’s own plan. Nehemiah was ready to go and request from the king his release from being the king’s cupbearer so he could go to Jerusalem and do what God wanted to be done. Nehemiah as the intercessor who identified himself with the need for action became the answer to his own prayer.

In our own day there is the crying need for a response to the apostasy of most of what calls itself Christianity and Church. This too can be restored into a living relationship with the living God. It will take an acknowledgment of and a repentance of the sins that I and my father’s house have likewise sinned by rebelling against God and His Word as contained in the Bible. Are you willing to relinquish all of your life to stand in the gap as one of God’s intercessors in these critical days leading up to the second coming of the Messiah, who is the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son? From my own experience it will cost you everything you cherish as your own. However, should you be willing to become a present day intercessor at the level as seen in the life of Nehemiah you shall have authority and power like that given to Nehemiah by God: The authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, the greatest intercessor of all, as His identical faith  still needs to be evidenced through God’s intercessors of today.

To quote Rees Howells ……..

During this period the Lord has allowed us to be tested beyond our strength; often 'pressed out of measure, above strength...that we should not trust in ourselves.' Our faith has grown with the work, and we have proved over and over again that all the testings have been for the purpose of strengthening it.

yet it was never him but Christ – Gal. 2:2
